Wow, 21 weeks and no uptdate yet... Well, student's life isn't that exciting anyway - always like learning, learning, working, learning, learning... But now there are "holidays" although I still have to write a science paper the next time and also have to go for working.
Last week I had my birthdays parties - first with my family and then with some good friends from university. But nothing special - only some good meal and drinks...
I also was looking for a good toppic for a thesis at university and probably found one. It's a statistical review of life quality of patients with systemic sclerosis (a rheumatic disease). But first I want to finish this actual paper before starting researching for the thesis. But let you all know what's going on. |

am 1.8. ist es soweit: ich trete zur mündlichen Prüfung an. Das Losverfahren meinte es gut mit mir - ich habe wohl eine gute Prüfungskommission bekommen. Nun heißt es, die nächsten Tage noch mehr / gezielter powern. Hab zur Zeit aber ein gutes Gefühl. Also drückt die Daumen! |

Feiertag für alle anderen - ich sitze zu Hause und büffele für die morgige Neuro-Anatomie-Klausur (nicht, das gerade vor 3 Wochen die letzte geschrieben wurde...). Aber dann ist nach einem Tag mit Vorlesungen und jobben (bin jetzt Tutorin für jüngere Semester in der Biochemie) ab Samstag dann auch mal wieder ein freies Wochenende. Die letzten Tage waren ziemlich heftig, der Druck steigt gewaltig - und ständig schwebt das Damoklesschwert von "Physikum" über mir. Aber ich gebe mir Mühe, so normal wie möglich zu wirken. Ob es klappt? |

Oops, did I really wrote the last entry 11 weeks ago? Can't believe it. 3rd semester is just finished - yesterday I had my last exam for this term. Was quite good at all. So now it's time for relaxing a bit before I have to prepare coming semester (there will be an anatomy exam before official start) and the first state examina in July and August. We'll see.
On Tuesday next week Firstaidkid and me we will go to Portugal for some days. First real holidays for ages. Looking forward. Sun's shining right now and it's already spring time there. Couldn't be better. Maybe we should stay there for longer? |

i know, but now I do some quite surprising: I take chance to let you know what's going on in my life at the moment: studies, studies, studies - that's quite all!
It's quite obvious that big exams in July/august next year get closer and the teachers at university level up the pressure extremely. It isn't difficult to learn all these things but sometimes I ask how much can a person remember?
Well, sometimes I meet my love during stressful weekends with many dates and plans. I wished it would be easier handling all this...
Felt bad the last two days because of a mysterious stomach-thing (it wasn't a virus in my opinion) but today it's much better and can study again -:)

Finished this semester - finally. Last weeks were quite exhausting and I really wished holidays. Exams are written and by now I managed everything (the result of today's exam will posted in the mid of August). I'm a little proud of myself...
Now it`s time for relaxing (although I´ll work at the supermarket about 8-10 hours a week - so there aren't really free weeks). |

das GFB-WE hat nicht geschadet: habe das erste von 3 großen Anatomie-Testaten gut über die Runden gebracht. Im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes - wir haben wie im Sportunterricht ein Kreistest (mit verschiedenen Stationen mit unterschiedlichen Aufgaben - insgesamt 32) absolviert. Für jede Station wahr 1 min Zeit. Witzig.
Und in 10 Tagen ist das nächste Testat - dann mündlich. Also keine Müdigkeit vorschützen (heißt das Wort wirklich so?) |

Jetzt habe ich mich doch zu früh gefreut und zu viel von der Akupunktur erwartet - aber mein Rücken zeigt sich wieder von seiner schmerzvollen Seite.
Gleichzeitig habe ich heute erfahren, dass meine Oma schwer erkrankt ist - Mist! Ich werde wohl am Sonntag zu ihr fahren, noch liegt sie im Krankenhaus. |

Ich verstehe die Welt nicht mehr: Habe immer noch keinen Studentenjob gefunden - von wegen Konjunktur... Mal ist man zu unerfahren (Arztpraxis etc.), dann wieder überqualifiziert (stud. Went to the doctor last Thursday because my back still hurts badly (as it does since August last year) and finally he found out that it is a kind of "binding disk incident" but not too bad to need an operation. On Monday I'll start with acupuncture and hope it helps.
Still 2 weeks of internship left and I'm still fascinated from medicine work. Took part in an operation where a man was amputated his leg. I felt a bit like being in a Butcher's shop. Couldn't believe that I would like it somehow. Crazy... |

Gestern: Was für ein Abend. Ich hatte Spätdienst im Praktikum und für insgesamt 36 Patienten standen mit mir noch 2 Personen bereit, Windeln zu wechseln, Pissapparate zu säubern, dicke Omas umzudrehen (jede Stunde von links nach rechts und umgekehrt!) und nebenbei noch Essen auszuteilen, wieder einzusammeln und mit einem Amerikanischen Basketballer (schätzungsweise 2,05 m groß) auf Englisch zu sprechen, weil er kein Wort Deutsch kann (außer "Danke"). Wahrscheinlich bin ich wieder einen Marathon gerannt, jedenfalls fühlen sich meine Beine heute noch wie Gummi an. Aber in ein paar Stunden geht´s wieder los... |

Nun ist es geschafft - das erste Semester habe ich erfolgreich hinter mich gebracht. Inzwischen habe ich auch schon alle Klausurergebnisse bekommen und zum Glück, muss ich nirgends noch einmal antreten. Also bin ich heute zur Bibliothek und habe sämtliche Bücher wieder abgegeben (eine arme Studentin kann sich nicht alles kaufen...) Jetzt werde ich die nächsten Tage meine Freizeit genießen, bevor ich am nächsten Montag mein Pflegepraktikum (Schwesternarbeit) im Unfallkrankenhaus Marzahn beginne.

Just wanted to let anybody know that I´m still here. But there´s much to do at the moment because there´re 5 exams coming up from next saturday on (3rd February). So please don´t blame on me - I´ll be back soon (if I don´t have to repeat any exams it should be from 13th February on).

Finished exams quite well: Monday´s vocabulary was good - should have managed it. Today Anatomy was really easy to handle: results were given 2 hours later: I passed with 23 of 30 points (which is about 77%). I was really happy but also exhausted of learning too much the last days (my brain feels like jelly). That´s what I wanted... |

Yes, I'm still alive but time's running and the last 4 weeks of my new study were more busy than I expected before. Two more weeks and there are my first 2 exams (anatomy of the skeleton and latin vocabularies). But besides that there are also many homework during the weeks to do (records of the chemistry and physics experiments, proposal for an own psychology study a.s.o.). At the end of this semester there will be 5 more exams.
But everything is really interesting and until now I don't regret the decision to study medicine. Even I spend lot of time for this. |

Today was my first day at Charité and I was horibbly excited the whole weekend before. I wasn´t drawn lots for the reformed medicine study but for the regular. Now I´m in a group of 20 people and I´m the oldest one (most of the others just finished school this summer!) but it should be fun. This week we get lots of information about how to learn, which books to buy etc.
Can´t believe it´s really becoming true. |

Waren gestern beim Konzert von "The Movement" im Potsdamer Waldschloss - die habe meine Beine (und auch einige andere) ganz schön zum Zappeln gebracht. War wirklich nett, obwohl ich die Band vorher nicht kannte. Der Drummer war großartig - Respekt!
Nach einer turbulenten Heimfahrt (mit mehrfachen Bierentsorgungen) dann gegen 3 Uhr ins Bett gefallen und 9 Uhr wieder erwacht. Dementsprechend müde, aber das ist egal....
Gleich gehts zum Grillen: Fleisch ist mein Gemüse! |
